Fashion Council WA and TPFF are thrilled to announce that this year's Festival will officially be fur-free.

The decision to not allow real animal fur to be shown on the TPFF 2016 runway comes after consultation with the local fashion industry and PETA, and follows the ethical footsteps of VAMFF.

"We have arrived at the conclusion that there are many options of producing great clothes that are on trend, sustainable and cruelty free," said Festival Director Mariella Harvey Hanrahan.

"By taking a stand against fur, Telstra Perth Fashion Festival is part of the growing movement in the fashion industry that recognises animals shouldn't have to die for coats, collars, cuffs and trim. The majority of people would never consider wearing fur, and we're thrilled to see Telstra Perth Fashion Festival making the compassionate decision to ban fur from the runways," said Associate Director of PETA Australia, Ashley Fruno.
